Dr. Jan grew up in a very pet-centered family with dogs, cats, mice and chameleons before becoming involved with horses. Education was important in her home along with community service. “So, what better way to combine all the core values that called to me than veterinary medicine. And what a ride it has been. Every day I wake up eager to go to work. Every day I learn something new and every day I try to make a difference in someone’s life.” She is a native of Annapolis and graduated from the University Of Georgia Veterinary School in 1980 followed by two years of post-graduate work at the University of Guelph in both medicine and surgery.

The Delmarva Equine Clinic was started by Dr. Jan in 1986. For the first three years, she operated it out or her home in Laurel, Delaware. The practice moved to her garage in Camden and then to its final location in 2013. Dr. Sosnowski’s interests include sport horse medicine and reproduction.

Her husband, Scott Nichol, manages their farm with their horses, dogs, and cats. Dr. Jan’s hobbies include snow skiing, water sports and competing with her show hunters on the A-circuit between New York and Florida.
