Sarah Varnell
Dr. Sarah Varnell brings over 10 years of experience in the equine veterinary industry first as an assistant and student nurse then as a veterinarian. She grew up in northern Delaware where her parents still reside and is excited to have returned to her home state. She attended veterinary school at University of California Davis graduating in 2017. Prior to joining the Delmarva Equine Clinic she completed an internship at Manor Equine in 2018 and has since been practicing equine medicine in general practice where she has been honing her skills. She completed medical acupuncture training in 2023 and her veterinary spinal manipulative therapy (VSMT) training in 2024. Since being certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) and VSMT she is pleased to offer more therapy and treatment options to her patients.
Dr. Varnell has a variety of professional interests including sport horse medicine, lameness evaluation, acupuncture, field surgery, ultrasonography, and preventative care. Outside of work she can be found spending time with her family and tripod cat, Minnie, as well as baking, gaming, and enjoying the outdoors gardening.
